Before getting into the domain business, Bill started his career in the funeral business with his Dad. Raised in a small western Oklahoma town of Sentinel, Oklahoma, McClure's family served almost every family in the county at one time or another for over 50 years. It was a family affair, serving your friends at the toughest times in their lives. It was humbling and rewarding. Bill later acquired 6 other funeral homes in the area and later in east Texas. His love for funeral service and the families they served has continued to help mold the customer service focus Bill teaches today. “Create an offline friendship in an online world, and then serve your friends”. Bill was founder and managing partner of the investment banking firm Amerimark Capital while living in Dallas, Texas, in 1987. |

In the early 1990s, he acquired several companies, including FlowersDirect.com and eFlowers.com, selling them in 2002. In 2000, McClure, his son Mark, and friend Chad Jacquays founded Traffic Strategies.com, developing, monetizing, and selling the entire business with its house of 40 domains to Japan’s Rakuten.com and Linkshare.com in 2007 for over $7,000,000. WJM.com currently owns an extremely diverse portfolio of top shelf domain names and websites, including hundreds of sites in areas such as insurance, moving, coffee, tea, flowers, travel, golf, vitamin, diet, and cosmetics. With his family and team, Bill is always on the lookout for the next big opportunity to expand. Says McClure, "The growth potential for this industry is just enormous, if we watch the trends and make sure that we don't fall behind with antiquated technology. That's the key." |
